Course overview

In this 30-hour course you will build your confidence and develop the knowledge and skills you need to train teachers working in your educational context. You will learn how teachers learn and develop, how to evaluate, design and run training sessions, and how to observe teaching and give feedback.

The course is designed for experienced teachers and draws on participants’ existing knowledge of the classroom to assist in their progression from teacher to trainer. Participants each receive a copy of the Cambridge Professional Learning book From Teacher to Trainer, which acts as a resource and reference during the course, and as a source of continued guidance once the course has ended.

  • Developing skills for analysing, designing and delivering teacher training sessions and courses
  • Deepening understanding of key issues in planning and delivering training courses for teachers

  • Identifying and planning strategies for further development as a trainer

Delivery and certification

  • Cambridge Train the Trainer is available in two delivery modes: face-to-face and blended. Both modes include 30 hours of instruction and provide participants with a certificate of completion from Cambridge.
    • Face-to-face delivery takes place over 5 full days and is entirely classroom- based.
    • Blended delivery includes 4 full days of face-to-face input in the classroom, with interactive online sessions beforehand and afterwards.
